Action is tough, believes Salman

14th August 2012

It all started with Wanted,’ when Bollywood superstar and once most loved chocolate boy, Salman Khan emerged as an action star.

He initiated the action genre by reviving it with his films after the success of ‘Wanted’ as well. He did Dabangg, Ready’ and Bodyguard which had fair amount of action in it. And now that he is all set for the release of yet another action centric film - Ek Tha Tiger,’ Salman confesses that doing action films is not an easy job.

“There is a lot of pain and difficulty that an actor faces while doing action scenes. Like doing stunts in worst conditions - in very hot or cold weather and wake up at wrong hours, fight in dirty places, sometimes in water, sometimes in the sun. Do people really fight on roofs? Why can’t they give us a good mattress to fall on? But no, they will always make you fall on a hard surface,” giggled Salman on explaining the cons of doing reel action.

He who never fails to amaze the interested audience revealed in his own way, that he is comfortable with romance and not action, “I am comfortable with romance. I am doing lot of romantic scenes, but not on screen,” he chuckled once again.

Nonetheless, he did state that one has to be really strong for all the action. “An action film takes a toll on you, because you are running from morning to evening, you are falling and getting hurt in the cold weather. Sometimes, a scene needs 12 retakes and rehearsals in a day, so it is tiring.

I think one has to be very physically fit to do all this,” said the 46-year-old Salman.
