Adam Garcia offended a US talk show host when he said he looked like Britney Spears.

The Australian actor-and-dancer was at a party when he bumped into Jimmy Fallon and decided to strike up a conversation. Unfortunately, Adam found himself saying exactly the wrong thing.

"I was in New York at a party and I'd had a few beers and a few whiskies when I was introduced to him. I noticed that he had on a skinny tie and a white shirt undone a bit and I went, Oh, wow, you look just like Britney Spears!' At that point he told me to go and f**k myself. It was probably justified," he recalled.

Not all Adam's celebrity encounters have been so bad though.

He was invited to meet Britain's Queen Elizabeth II on one occasion and was thrilled with how well it went.

"I was invited to join the Queen at an evening reception in Buckingham Palace with a whole bunch of Australians before her tour of Australia," he told the UK edition of OK! magazine.

"It's the most extraordinary palace with the most exquisite art. I got to chat to Prince Philip, it was fabulous. I've met Prince Charles a few times. He's very funny. I have a lot of respect for him."
