Adele: I've penned new tracks

31st May 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Adele already has several tracks ready for a new album and has revealed one of them is a "real girl power" song.

The 23-year-old singer is currently promoting her second studio album 21, which has been a huge hit around the world. Rather than bask in her chart success, Adele has been busy planning her next record. The British musician plans to finish recording the album by the end of the year and is hoping to release the new material in time for her birthday in May 2012. She has also revealed the record will feature a rendition of one of her most-loved songs.

"I have five tracks ready to go. One of them is quite upbeat - a real 'girl power' type of song," she is quoted as saying by British newspaper The Sun. "I plan to do a cover of the INXS hit Never Tear Us Apart which is probably my fave song of all time. The whole album will have quite a live feel to it."

Adele went on to reveal she harbours a desire to appear in a television show. The songstress is a huge fan of long-running Australian soap opera Neighbours and is keen to land a cameo role in the programme. However, she isn't convinced she could cope with such a long plane journey to get to Australia.

"I love Neighbours and especially Harold Bishop. He plays the tuba so I'd love to ask him to play on some of the tracks," she explained. "In return I could do a cameo on Neighbours like Lily Allen did. But I have to overcome my fear of flying all that way first." (C) Cover Media
