Salman Khan has always been known for his philanthropy. Be it his charity foundation 'Being Human' or his various other social works, Salman has been an inspiration to many. And it seems like Akshay Kumar too is inspired heavily by Salman.

Akshay has opened a cancer treatment centre for those who are deprived of the medical facilities. The actor recently started a Cancer Shelter for policemen in Naigaon as a tribute to his dad. His father too suffered from cancer and hence he is aware of the pain a patient goes through while suffering from the deadly disease.

While frequently visiting the hospital for his father's treatment, the actor came across the plight of a policeman who was then complaining of inappropriate facilities. Hence he soon decided to launch the help centre which has been named 'Hari Om Cancer Shelter'.

The medical centre equipped with the required facilities, provides treatment to the needy at a lower cost.
