(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Alec Baldwin has denied hitting a lens man yesterday, claiming he doesn't make a habit of "decking photographers willy-nilly".

The 30 Rock star was leaving the New York City Marriage License Bureau after allegedly obtaining a license to wed fiance Hilaria Thomas, when he reportedly approached New York Daily News photographer Marcus Santos in a temper.

Alec has rubbished such claims however.

"There was a person in front of me and he was blocking him, and the guy lunged and he almost hit me in the teeth with the lens of the camera. So I just pushed the guy away," he told CBS This Morning. "People just think I'm out there decking photographers willy-nilly. Nothing could be further from the truth.

"I mean, I'm in front of a courthouse, the place is crawling with cops, if I'm slugging a photographer in front of the courthouse - I mean I'm dumb, but I'm not that dumb."

Alec also added that the photographer has "baited [him] before" by camping out in front his house.

Photographer Marcus recounted his version of events yesterday.

"He comes after me, starts shoving and punching me one time, right in the chin," he explained. (C) Cover Media
