Anurag Kashyap denies any CBI investigation probe

23rd November 2018

CBI sources suggest that a case has been filed against Anurag Kashyap's production house 'Phantom Films' along with the other directors associated with it. Kashyap and his company partners are alleged for excessive payment from the NFDC (National Film Development Corporation) and financial irregularities.

The complaint has been made by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, and apart from Kashyap and other directors, a case against unnamed members of the National Film Development Corporation has also been filed. It was reportedly filed last month and as a part of the probe, a notice was also issued to the NDFC chairman. Although, the 'Manmarziyaan' director has denied this alleged investigation and even commented about this openly with a tweet.

Kashyap tweeted, "The reportage so far on the alleged "investigation" is false, There is no such notice that has been served to me. Only questions I have been getting is from the media. If anyone has seen the copy of such a letter please send me the screenshot."

Earlier Phantom films terminated Vikas Bahl's partnership following the #Metoo row and now the ownership stands with Madhu Mantena, Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap jointly. Speaking about his films Anurag once stated, "I get bothered by seeing celebratory violence that I see in mainstream movies or the superhero movie where the violence makes you feel like wanting to be a hero and getting into a fight. My idea of creating violence is to put the viewer off it, where it disturbs them."
