The makers of 'Raazi' are out with its official trailer and it seems super intriguing telling the tale of 1971 Indo-Pak war. It is the lead of the film, Alia Bhatt introduced as an innocent Indian Muslim girl who is lined up for an arranged marriage with a Pakistani military officer played by Vicky Kaushal. ''Mein chahta hu tum Hindustaan ki aankh aur kaan bann k Pakistan mein raho'' pleads her patriotic father and Alia is a woman on a mission, an undercover spy who places her country on priority in her life. She is trained vigorously and a couple of emotional scenes from the trailer were extremely intense showcasing her acting prowess. Click here to watch 'Raazi' official trailer.
Alia's on-screen character is also stuck with an emotional war in her head and one of the scenes has her pointing at her husband with tears in her eyes, where she says "Watan ke aage kuchh nahi, khud bhi nahi."
So much intensity and Alia is the central character around which the film revolves. The film also marks a tribute to true unsung heroes who died but were never given a guard of honour.
Helmed by Meghna Gulzar the film is based on Harinder Sikka's novel 'Calling Sehmat'. Bankrolled by Karan Johar and Junglee Pictures, Raazi is slated to release on May 11.
