(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Alice Cooper thinks the theme-park attraction dedicated to his music is "fun".
The 63-year-old rock legend is well known for his hardcore heavy metal sounds. Amusement park Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles are big fans of Alice's thundering riffs. The park has created a special terrifying maze called Alice Cooper: Welcome To My Nightmare for their annual Halloween Horror Nights festivities in dedication to the rock star's 1975 album of the same name.
Alice appreciates the scary gesture.
"The fun is that although you're terrified, you know you'll come out alive," Alice told USA Today. "The original album was all from the point of view of a 7-year-old boy who was sure things were coming to life when the lights went out. So they just ran with that idea."
The maze features a host of ghoulish surprises including skeletons, spiders and creepy baby dolls. Alice is freaked out by one room in particular.
"[My favourite part is] probably the room where an obese Cold Ethyl is lying on a gurney as you hear Halo of Flies," Alice said.
The maze takes Alice back to his golden years as a youth. He appreciates being able to have a good scream every once in a while.
"The way I look at it, everyday life is so set," Alice said. "You have work, you have some fun with golf or softball. But sometimes we just don't want to feel so responsible. We want to feel like little kids again, getting the scare of our lives, and living to tell the tale."
Alice's new album Welcome 2 My Nightmare, a follow-up to his 1975 record, was released this month. (C) Cover Media
