(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Heidi Klum advises expectant women to "find their own way" through motherhood.

The 38-year-old model has four children, including three with her husband Seal. With four children all under the age of 10, Heidi believes that she had to learn about parenthood the hard way.

"[My guidance for new mothers is] to take all of the advice with a pinch of salt because everyone sort of gives you advice when you are pregnant," Heidi told OK! magazine at the launch of her new perfume Shine this week.

"Everyone sort of has something to say and ultimately, you just find your own way and you have so much time to figure it out."

Heidi believes that simply spending time with the new baby offers plenty of education on motherhood. In her opinion, growing along with the child is a valuable part of the parenting process.

"It's not like all of a sudden they are born and they are full on, they are not. They sleep most of the time so you can gradually learn with your child," Heidi explained.

"It's not like you buy a car and it's like whoa, it's driving, crashing into something right away, needs gas or I don't know. Like a baby, it all happens very slowly in a way. They eat and they poop"

Heidi applies this natural approach to the way she raises her children. She believes that her youngsters will figure out what they want to be when they grow up in their own time.

"I don't really want to encourage them in any direction," Heidi said. "I feel like they are going to find their own direction, when they are old enough and they have to think about work, which they don't yet. They are still kids." (C) Cover Media
