Amy Winehouse told rehab is last chance'

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Amy Winehouse has reportedly been told by doctors that her current rehab stint is her "last chance".

The 27-year-old British singer checked into London's The Priory clinic last week, with her representative explaining she had "embarked on a treatment programme" to ensure she was ready for performances in Europe this summer and wanted to seek a doctor's assessment.

The singer famously battled with alcohol and drugs in the past, and stayed at the rehabilitation centre on occasions between 2007 and 2009. It has been claimed Amy has been warned she needs to make this her final visit.

"It's the last chance saloon for Amy. Doctors have come down hard on her because of the severity of her situation. It's a harsh reality but she had to hear it," a source told British newspaper The Sun.

Amy's father Mitch and director boyfriend Reg Traviss are said to be providing a huge amount of support. The pair are understandably concerned, although Amy's eagerness to seek help is a promising sign.

"They are worried about her. Mitch has been down this road before during Amy's drug addiction. But she is there of her own accord this time and wants to sort herself out," added the source.

Last week, Amy's representative explained that the songstress would remain in the clinic "on doctor's advice". It is hoped she will still be ready for her highly anticipated performances at European festivals this summer. (C) Cover Media
