(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Wedding rumours surrounding Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are "just noise" according to their French mayor.

Michal Latz has dismissed increasing speculation about the couple's anticipated nuptials, claiming that he would know if the Hollywood stars were planning to get married in his community.

The French mayor runs the area of Correns in France, where Brad and Angelina own an ancient castle and has become friendly with the couple who he claims invited him to Chateu Miraval when they first moved in.

"There are no plans for them to marry that I know of and I would know," he told American publication People. "Every year, the rumour resurfaces. More noise from the American press to sell a few more pounds of paper."

Reports have claimed that Angelina and Brad are planning an "intimate and informal" wedding ceremony at their French property, which boasts its own 16th century chapel, this summer.

Brad himself fuelled speculation that the Hollywood power couple are ready to tie the knot after over six years together, when he admitted that their extensive brood of children would like to see them get married.

"The kids ask about marriage. It's meaning more and more to them," the Tree Of Life star revealed earlier this year. "So it's something we've got to look at." (C) Cover Media
