The 33-year-old singer and former Pussycat Doll front woman, who left the popular girl group in December of last year, has since been focused on personal and professional empowerment.
Nicole says her new album Killer Love reflects her internal evolution.
"[Killer Love] is a very empowering album about heartbreak and love and being lost in love and losing yourself to love. It's empowering because it's coming out of that process and finding yourself again and your strength in that," Nicole revealed to Hollyscoop.
Having the opportunity to work with collaborators such as Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and Sting, Nicole believes her new record is musically expansive.
The stunning star is eager to present this diverse medley to the world.
"It's an eclectic album but it shows different sides of my personality," said Nicole. "I went a little deeper with this album and I just hope fans rock out to it and feel free to it and love it."
Although her new album fills her with delight, Nicole also enjoys the many other projects she is working on.
Her role as judge on US television show the X-Factor is an extremely fun experience. She especially enjoys working with fellow panellists Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and L.A. Reid.
"Well, Simon is very blessed that he gets to work with me and he still thanks me every day and I just tell him You're welcome, Simon," she joked. "No, [the cast is] amazing, they're unbelievable and so is L.A. Reid. He's a force to be reckoned with."
With so much on her plate professionally a stable love life is all Nicole can hope for. She has been dating Formula 1 racing champion Lewis Hamilton for years and is very happy with the state of their relationship.
"[I'm busy with] work right now," she said. "I'm very happy where I am with my relationship right now. I'm grateful to have my album coming out, Killer Love and to be able to have a new job on X-Factor."
