Angelina Jolie will reportedly be made an honorary citizen of Sarajevo.
The 36-year-old star's work on In The Land of Blood and Honey helped to bring attention to the area that was torn apart by a three-year war in the early 90s.
And Us Weekly reports that government officials of the Sarajevo Canton want to thank her for the work she did through her directorial debut.
"[Angelina is being recognised for] her contribution to the preservation of truth about the war in Sarajevo and in Bosnia and Herzegovina," a sourced told the publication.
"And her dedication to protection of the principles of humanity, democracy, tolerance and solidarity between people of different ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds."
Laureates will apparently receive their honors at a special parliament session on May 3.
The busy mother-of- six, who recently announced her engagement to long term partner Brad Pitt, spent the weekend working with displaced Columbians as part of her new role as special envoy of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees.
