Angelina Jolie is reportedly concerned people no longer think she is "cool".

The actress was mocked by many people following her appearance at the Oscars last month. She wore a black velvet Atelier Versace gown, which boasted a thigh-high split. Angelina showed off the design by thrusting her pale and toned limb out of the dress whenever possible.

"What appears to have upset her the most is the suggestion that she's no longer cool," a source told the British edition of Grazia magazine. "She once ruled the red carpet."

Angelina handed out an award at the prestigious ceremony, and even posed with her leg out while on stage.

The Descendants' Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash picked up the best adapted screenplay prize from her, with Jim openly poking fun at the actress by mimicking her poses.

The actress is said to be struggling to get over the humiliation she felt about the whole experience.

"Angelina can't believe that she is now the butt of everyone's jokes and on such a global scale," the insider said. "She feels completely humiliated. She simply can't believe that her appearance backfired so spectacularly. Angelina never looks uncool ever."

Soon after she appeared on the red carpet with her partner Brad Pitt, many started mocking her seemingly exaggerated stances. The phrase "Angelina's right leg" was soon trending on Twitter, with some users joking about how keen she was to show off her limb.

Before long someone had even set up a Twitter account called AngiesRightLeg.

"I'm a leg, get a load of me!!" someone wrote on the account.

"You have to admit I'm one hell of a leg Left leg and I talked - everything's cool. Next Oscars, she gets the slit."
