Sonam Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Sonakshi Sinha all these starkids and few more have one thing in common, just before they got their big breaks onscreen they all worked behind the cameras. Following their footsteps is actor Sanjay Kapoor and designer Maheep Kapoor's daughter Shanaya Kapoor. The young lady who recently turned 18 has stepped into the glamour world as an assistant director. The news was confirmed by her proud parents on social networking sites. 

Sanjay who keeps on posting Shanaya's pictures on his social media handle, sharing several pictures of Shanaya wrote on Instagram, "All the best Shanaya #newbeginnings #newjourney," whereas the proud mommy maheep, wrote, "My baby's gone to Lucknow for 2 weeks #MissYouAlready #AssistantDirectorsLife #LoveYou @shanayakapoor02 #ProudMama."

This the third generation of the Kapoor clan to join the filmmaking world. Her cousins Anil Kapoor's daughter Sonam Kapoor and Boney Kapoor's son Arjun Kapoor too took this route before making their debut onscreen. While Arjun started his career as an assistant with Nikhil Advani's 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', Sonam assisted Bhansali for his critically acclaimed film 'Black'.

However, whom is Shanaya going to assist is not out in news. Her cousin Janhnvi Kapoor was applauded for her Bollywood debut 'Dhadak' in 2018.
