The actress is best known for her portrayal of Alice Cullen in the Twilight film franchise. She loves getting glammed up for film premieres and other red-carpet events, and has started experimenting with her look. She never expected to favour unusual nail colours, but now cant get enough of them.

RGB Minty is a great green colour and it doesnt have toxins in it, she said, when asked her favourite shade.

Jewel colours are popular this season, with blue, purple, red and silver all seen on stars recently.

Not all celebrities want to shock with their choice though. Man Men star Christina Hendricks prefers a more neutral tone, as does reality television star Kristin Cavallari.

Essies Mink Muffs is my favourite shade, she said. Its a beige latte colour.
