(Cover) - EN Showbiz - President Barack Obama has announced he has recorded an episode of MythBusters.

The US President is a huge fan of the science entertainment series, so was said to be thrilled about making the guest appearance on the show which will air in December.

Obama enjoyed his television experience, although he admits he would have preferred to be a little more hands-on and actually caused some explosions.

"I can announce today that I taped a special guest appearance for their show, although I didn't get to blow anything up," he announced.

"I was a little frustrated about that."

As well as being enthusiastic about chemistry, the leader was also inspired to get involved because he wants to highlight the importance of education and encourage young Americans to take an interest in science.

In the episode he will test a myth surrounding Greek scientist Archimedes and his discoveries about the sun alongside the shows scientist hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage. (C) Cover Media
