Bethenny Frankel suffered a miscarriage with her second baby.

The 41-year-old reality TV star and husband Jason Hoppy welcomed their first child, daughter Bryn Casey in May 2010.

On the Today Show on Monday morning the star revealed she recently miscarried her second child at eight-weeks pregnant, after being asked about her hopes for adding to her brood.

"I'm 41 it's a very personal question," she said. "We were pregnant with a second baby and at eight weeks I miscarried. That was a very emotional experience.

"Until you become a woman, you don't know the things that come with it. The window is closing, and it's something I'm dealing with."

Bethenny is grateful that she has her daughter. The star says trying for another child is not at the top of her and Jason's agenda at the moment.

"I'm not really thinking about it," she said. "I have thought about other women more than myself. I can't believe what people go through if they can't even have the one. ... You go through a roller coaster of emotions about it."

Bethenny spoke of adoption plans at the end of last year.

"Women tell me they never regret having a second one. I'm getting up there, especially for getting pregnant. I am also open to adoption," she told In Touch magazine.

"When I had no prospects, and had no idea what the future held, I thought I would adopt."
