Bipasha keen on doing Bengali films

16th January 2015

Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has been very brave in her choices. Be it her personal life or professional life, the bong babe has always been on the road less taken.

And that's what has made all the difference. The actress, who has done all kind of roles and genres, now wants to do regional cinema.

Now that more and more South Indian films are being remade in Hindi, the actress urges the filmmakers to pick gems from other regional media too. "If the film's (South Indian) good, then what is the problem. They should do some remakes of Bengali films as well because there so many good movies there. We remake Korean and English films, then why not regional films?" questions Bipasha.

She further adds that she'd love to do a Bengali film someday. "I am keen to work with Srijit Mukherjee. He'd offered me his last film but it didn't work out. I'm looking forward to working with him," she added. Though she never fears experimenting, the dimpled actress doesn't want to join the actors-turning-singers bandwagon.

"I'll sound like a frog. Very often when I'm staying in a hotel during shoots abroad and call up the room service, they say, 'Yes Mr Basu’," chuckles Bips. Nonetheless, she is always ready for an item number.

"I would love to do something like 'beedi jalayi le'. Many offers have come about but didn't work out due to logistical reasons. I wouldn't mind doing one though," winks Bipasha flashing her million-dollar smile.
