Blake Lively discusses tragic love scene

24th September 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Blake Lively says her sex scene with Ben Affleck in her new movie is a turn off for the audience.

The actress plays a drug addicted single mother in gritty crime drama The Town. Blake had to get up close and personal with Ben who plays a bank robber - in the movie, but insists the scenes are far from sexy. She believes the sequence shows how disturbed their characters are and it should leave cinemagoers upset rather than aroused.

"It wasn't there to be a gratuitous sex scene for the trailer or to get guys to watch this movie, it's actually a turn off for the audience, everybody around and for us," Blake explained. "It's awkward, it's unromantic and it's also very tragic in a lot of ways because these are two people that hate each other and they're stuck in this rut.

Blake has revealed she had to shoot the scene as soon as the cameras started rolling on the project. The 23-year-old beauty who shot to fame on US television show Gossip Girl admits it was difficult to be intimate with Ben, 38, when she was only just getting into her character.

"It was my first day of shooting and if that's not an ice breaker I don't know what is?!" she joked. (C) Cover Media
