(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mark Ronson always thought he was destined to work as a shop assistant.
The 35-year-old superstar producer has revealed his surprising childhood career ambitions on the eve of the launch of his new album, Record Collection.
The event is due to take place next week at Rough Trade record shop in West London and Mark is hoping to help sell copies of his album to his fans.
Do you know the bit Im looking forward to the most? he asked British newspaper The Times. I get to stand behind the counter and serve people. Thats what I thought I would end up doing for a living anyway.
The producer, who worked on Back to Black with Amy Winehouse in 2006, will replace the titles of genre racks at the record store launch event with the names of each artist who has contributed to the album such as Boy George, Ghostface Killah, The Drums and Simon Le Bon.
And Marks quirkiness and ability to surprise dont end there.
He has even admitted he tried to make friends with two guys who mugged him in New York.
As theyre coming to the end of mugging me, Im still standing there and theyre making their plans, he divulged. One of them is like, Well meet you back at so and sos house, and they knock fists together. And, because I had so many nerves running through me, I actually put my hand out and did the same. Like, yeah thanks for that. (C) Cover Media
