(Cover) - EN Star Style - Blake Lively is thrilled to have been chosen as the new face of Chanel's Mademoiselle handbag line.
It has been announced the 23-year-old actress - best known for playing Serena van der Woodsen in hit US television show Gossip Girl - will front a campaign for the luxury French fashion house set for release in March.
Blake is a huge Chanel fan, so was honoured to get involved. The fashion-loving star thinks the iconic Chanel handbag represents many things, including love and optimism.
"I will always feel [the bag] is more than just a purse," she told WWD. "It's a quilted case full of lipstick, love letters and the dreams and possibilities that I have always felt every time I see that beautiful CC."
The brands creative director Karl Lagerfeld photographed Blake for the campaign images, and he found making her appear beautiful a simple task. The fashion guru also admitted everyone involved in the campaign has fallen for Blakes charms.
"She's a kind of American dream girl," he enthused. "I think she will become a great actress. It was an easy job because everyone fell in love with her."
Blake and Karl met for the first time at Couture Fashion Week in July last year when they were introduced by mutual friend, American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Blake was overwhelmed by the meeting, and appreciates how lucky she is to be involved with Chanel.
"How did Cinderella feel when she slipped on the glass slipper? How did Snow White feel when she met her Prince Charming?" beamed Blake.
"A dream come true is an understatement. I can say that I feel like the happiest, luckiest girl around." (C) Cover Media
