(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mark Hoppus says Blink 182 are good despite their album delay.
The popular American punk band comprising of Mark, Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge announced they were cancelling their European and UK dates because their new album is taking longer to finish than expected.
They revealed on their website that they expected to have their long-awaited comeback album wrapped and released by summer, and to remain vital they've ditched their gigs and have gone back to work on the album.
Mark insists the band are getting along well despite the delay.
Yeah! Everything is really good. Everyone is working as hard as they can on the Blink album. I think the main reason [the album is] not done is just because of the manner in which we are trying to record it, he explained in an interview with Kerrang! magazine.
The vocalist and guitarist says that the band are still finding their feet after their 2005 hiatus. Mark says its difficult for the group to progress quickly when theyre lacking a central studio to rehearse and record, combined with a lack of producer working on the album.
Its a different recording process to anything weve done before. Before, it would be the three of us in the same room. Now, we have Tom recording in San Diego, and Travis and I recording in LA. We meet up every week [or] talk on the phone. We dont have a central studio or a producer. Since [producer] Jerry Finn passed away, we are figuring out a way of doing it ourselves. Its taking a little longer, but were getting great work done now, he added.
Their forthcoming record will be the first since their hit self-titled effort in 2003. (C) Cover Media
