Brad Pitt has reportedly spent 8,000 on suits of armour for himself and his son.
The Hollywood star has developed a keen interest in medieval wars over the years. He is particularly interested in going to historical re-enactment days, where people dress up in costume and act out iconic battles.
Brad raises six children with his partner Angelina Jolie and their eldest son Maddox, ten, has followed in his father's footsteps.
"Brad has always been passionate about history. Maddox was really interested in wars but hated all other aspects of the subject so Brad hatched a plan for them to dress up and go to re-enactment days," a source told British newspaper The Sun.
"He bought suits of armour and even special weapons. Now all the kids are really interested in history."
Brad and Angelina also have Pax, eight, Zahara, seven, Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
All the children have started to become curious about Maddox's new hobby although Angelina isn't quite as convinced.
"He's going to take the older kids to a Viking day after their first trip to an event near New Orleans. He is lining up a visit to a May Day event in Berkshire in the UK next," the insider added. "Angie always says she'll stay at home with the twins, but the kids want to see her kick their dad's backside in a battle."
