(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Bradley Cooper is glad he was fully prepared when his latest movie started shooting, as it was so stressful hed have been hospitalised otherwise. The actor plays Eddie Morra in Limitless, a character who gains super-human powers after discovering a secret drug. Making the film was a lot of fun, but it was shot quickly so there was no time for error. As Bradley portrayed the lead role, and had to appear alongside iconic actor Robert De Niro, he knows he would have felt anxious if he hadnt done his homework.I would have felt tremendous pressure if Id showed up to work unprepared, because there a tremendous amount of preparation involved in playing Eddie in all his evolution stages that demanded a lot of work, and had I showed up not having done the work then Id probably have had a panic attack and needed to be put into a hospital, because there wasnt much time, I mean we shot it in something like thirty eight days he explained to movie website Obsessed With Film. The people involved in that, I couldnt let down. I mean, making a movie is like running a race, a marathon of sorts. In one stomach-churning scene, Eddie drinks someones blood as he is so desperate to get a fix of the drug. Far from being put off by the idea, Bradley thinks its one of the best things hes ever done on film. Although many have been horrified after hearing what takes place, the 36-year-old explained it was actually the deciding factor in him signing on to the project.Perhaps it reveals my state of mind, but its the reason I wanted to do the movie. I came across that scene in the script and I thought, Ah, Id love to see that on film and Id love to be the one that does it. I really did, he laughed. Its the moment in the movie in the movie, thematically, where you realise just where this character is. If the movie works, or doesnt work, youll be able to tell in that moment, because if the theatre is laughing at the actor, pretending to drink blood in the scene, weve completely failed. Bradley is perhaps best known for appearing in comedy The Hangover, about a group of men who have a wild bachelor party in Las Vegas. The sequel is due out later this year, and for the star its a double-edged sword. The Hangover is the film which made his career, but he also worries it could be the picture which pigeonholes him. Its hard to say [appearing in The Hangover] was a vertical shift [in my career] but it was a shift. Certainly it was vertical financially. For Hangover Part II, I never thought Id get paid that much money in my whole life! he laughed.Relatively its not unbelievable for me it was just insane. But its also tricky. There is a scenario in which this movie [Limitless] doesnt do well, Hangover Part II is a huge success and its like, you can make buddy comedies for the rest of your career. So everything is tricky.
