(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Bridget Moynahan has described Kim Kardashian as an icon of this generation.

The 39-year-old American actress is well known for her role in hit US drama Blue Bloods, as well as for her high-profile relationship with ex-boyfriend, American footballer Tom Brady. The pair have three-and-a-half-year-old son John Edward Thomas together.

Bridget attracted a large amount of media attention because she announced her pregnancy after she and Tom who is now married to model Gisele Bndchen had split, and that she would be raising the child as a single mother.

The star has never been interested in the celebrity aspect of fame, and has spoken out against reality stars who appear to be willing to share every detail of their lives with the public. Despite not really comprehending the notion of reality TV, Bridget does admire Keeping up with the Kardashians star Kim, as well as Snooki from reality programme Jersey Shore.

Theyre putting forward material that youre never going to live down, she said. Really poor behaviour is going on, but now its considered OK. Theres a lack of self-respect that I dont understand, and I find it kind of sad.

That kind of fame - do you get satisfaction out of it long-term? Is it worth it? I dont know.

Bridget maintains she has created a stable family environment for John in collaboration with Tom and Gisele who are parents to 14-month-old son Benjamin. She admits it wasnt her initial plan to raise her son this way, because she doesnt feel any girl grows up dreaming of being a single mom, although is pleased with the way things have worked out.

"My son has two loving parents and an extended family, whether it's cousins or stepmothers or boyfriends. My son is surrounded by love," she beamed to the March issue of More. (C) Cover Media
