(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Britney Spears is so bad at golf she's been hitting balls into carts.

The famed singer has been learning the relaxed sport recently, although she is yet to completely get the hang of it. She has been practicing her putt at an upmarket course and still has a long way to go.

"It's heads-up when she's around. She's hit a few golfers and managed to land balls in golf carts," a source told British newspaper The Sun.

Britney's fianc Jason Trawick apparently suggested she take up golf as he felt it would be an ideal way for her to unwind.

She has received lessons at the Sherwood Country Club in California, although things haven't always gone to plan.

Britney, 30, has struggled to keep hold of her club, often sending it whizzing away as she takes a swing.

"She's a good sport and laughs at herself," the insider giggled.

The singer is reportedly making her new hobby a family affair as her sons Sean Preston, six, and five-year-old Jayden James are also being taught.

Britney isn't the only star being encouraged to learn golf. It was recently reported Brad Pitt has received invitations to try the sport by his new neighbours in Richmond, England. (C) Cover Media
