(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Britney Spears is reportedly hoping that Demi Lovato will sign up as a judge for X Factor.

Britney is believed to have agreed a deal to join the judging panel of the US version of the TV talent show, with an announcement expected soon.

Music mogul Simon Cowell still needs another star to complete the line-up for the new season and teen star Demi is the hot favourite. Britney is believed to be excited about working with her.

"Britney is the anchor of the new judging panel and that was Simon's most important hire. Britney is extremely hopeful that Demi Lovato will become one of the judges because she truly admires her," a source told RadarOnline.com. "Britney loves how open and honest Demi has been with her fans after she went to rehab last year. She thinks they have a lot in common and that they would have great chemistry on the show. Britney is being kept apprised of the status of on-going contract talks with Lovato and it is looking like she will be joining the show! Britney is extremely excited for filming to begin, which will be in the next month."

Demi is enjoying a resurgence in her career after taking time out to seek professional help for her eating disorder and emotional issues.

Simon is said to be eager to sign Demi up as she has a strong fan base and would attract a younger demographic to the show.

He is planning to invite the new judges to his home when the line-up has been confirmed.

"Once Demi officially signs her contract Simon will have the new judging panel over to his house for a celebration dinner. The second season of X Factor is going to be amazing," the source added.

If the deal goes ahead, Demi and Britney will replace Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul, who left The X Factor last year. (C) Cover Media
