Carey Mulligan has joked that she's going to release a "Christmas single".
The British actress stars as wayward Sissy in the erotic drama Shame, alongside Michael Fassbender.
The film follows Brandon - a lonely sex-addict in New York whose lifestyle of one-night stands spirals out of control when his younger sister, played by Carey, moves into his apartment.
Carey sings in the film and her rendition of the classic New York, New York is also featured in the trailer.
The star has joked that she is planning an assault on the holiday music charts.
"I might release a Christmas single. No! No I am not," she quipped in an interview with British TV show Daybreak.
Shame features explicit sex scenes - which resulted in the film being rated NC-17 in the US.
Carey found shooting the risqu scenes easier than showing off her singing voice.
"The nudity was fine, there were a couple of people in the room and I had never done it before. It was completely this character, but the singing was terrifying," she admitted. "Absolutely terrifying."
Carey has been filming a big screen adaptation of The Great Gatsby alongside Hollywood hunk Leonardo DiCaprio.
The stunning star has joked that working alongside the star is an arduous task.
"I will get through it every day if I have to. But it's rough, you know?" she smiled.
