(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Carla Gugino has revealed some useful yet bleak advice Donald Sutherland once gave her.

The 39-year-old American actress had the pleasure of working with 75-year-old Canadian screen icon Donald many years ago, and some of the words of wisdom he imparted to her struck a chord.

Although Donald has had a hugely successful movie career spanning almost 50 years, he told Carla that actors never stop worrying about their finances.

I worked with Donald Sutherland years ago, and he said to me, like he was my father, Carla, it never ends. It was so bleak! she laughed to Empire.

Carla has enjoyed a great amount of triumph in the movie world herself, appearing in hits such as Night at the Museum, American Gangster and this years Sucker Punch. The star says the desire to improve her economic situation will never leave her though.

Actually, I started acting when I was 13, and I became a legal adult when I was 16, and, though I have a very supportive family, I started supporting myself when I was really young, so I always have an awareness of that acting clich: When you finish one job, whats the next one going to be? she added.
