(Cover) - EN Star Style - Cassie was surprised at her mom's reaction when she shaved off her hair.

The American songstress, who is famed for hits including Me & U, is famed for her stunning looks and long locks, which she shaved off in April 2009.

The star, who debuted the dramatic look on her Twitter page at the time, chose to partially shave off her tresses because she wanted to experiment.

The beauty says her mom's positive reaction surprised her.

"It was time for a change and I never do anything crazy to my hair," she revealed in an interview with Nylon magazine. "I was worried about what [my mom] would think. But then she said, OMG... now I get to see your pretty face.'"

Cassie couldn't live without her distressed trousers. The 24-year-old star loves to recycle old pieces in her wardrobe.

"[I can't live without] my black leather Balmain pants. They have a rip at the knee that I have never fixed and I will never throw them out," she insisted.

Cassie says her personal style constantly changes. The stunning star is enjoying a more relaxed sense of fashion at the moment.

"Right now I'm in my tomboy phase. I wear my Jordans and flannel shirts," she added. (C) Cover Media
