(Cover) - EN Star Style - Laura Linney wears "crazy, southern-lady gardening hat[s]" to protect her skin in the sun.
The 47-year-old actress, who is best known for starring in Mystic River, Love Actually and Kinsey, is conscientious when it comes to skin protection.
The American star, who is currently playing a character fighting skin cancer on Showtime's The Big C, says that she is quick to protect her skin from the sun's harsh rays, even if it means compromising on style.
"I wear a lot of scarves because I get very burned," she told People. "I love hats. I do the big crazy, southern-lady gardening hat, I do the baseball cap; I love fedoras."
Laura doesn't understand the obsession with maintaining an all-year-round glow. The pale-skinned star says women should be more clued up on the dangers of compulsive tanning.
"Everything in moderation," she said. "It just means you have to grow up and be a little responsible about it."
Laura thinks people should wear sunscreen in all weathers, regardless of their skin type and ability to tan. The Golden Globe-winning actress says there is no excuse for a poor skin regime because there are so many options available.
"Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen," she advised. "There are now so many different kinds of sunscreen. There are lotions, there are sprays, there are powders. There's something for everybody out there." (C) Cover Media
