(Cover) - EN Star Style - Cat Deeley thinks its important for women to find their own style, not just copy other peoples.
The British star found fame as a presenter on UK television, but has now moved to America to pursue her career. Living in the US has opened Cats eyes to lots of different types of fashion, and she has started taking more risks. She loves trying out new styles even if they dont work, and has learnt not to look up to anyone when it comes to clothes.
Be your own style icon. It's great to admire other people's fashion choices, but I don't think you should idolise anyone. Style is a very personal thing and women should develop their own individual look, she explained. Dress for yourself. Above all, have fun. I was at a party last week in LA and they had this enormous feathered creation it was a 6ft-wide harness covered in ostrich feathers. I thought, Sure, why not? and tried it on.
Cat, 34, also likes accessories, but has warned they should be used carefully. She hates seeing women wearing acres of chains around their necks, explaining a well-places bracelet or ring is much more effective than piling on lots of different pieces.
I support British designers as much as I can, she added to guardian.co.uk. Stella McCartney, Christopher Bailey, Giles Deacon, Matthew Williamson and Mulberry are all amazing. (C) Cover Media
