(Cover) - EN Star Style - Cate Blanchett doesnt consider it important for other people to appreciate her style.

The 41-year-old Australian actress is famous for taking risks on the red carpet, and impressed fashionistas with her unusual Givenchy Haute Couture gown at the Academy Awards last month.

The floor-length lilac frock featured stunning beading and edgy tailoring and Cate felt honoured to get the chance to don something so rare.

"If people get it, they get it. If they dont, then it doesnt matter. There are so few houses that can afford to do couture, and since the red carpet is such a wonderful showcase, we should be celebrating that," she explained to InStyle.

The beautiful movie star admits the pretty pale tone of the dress was something she particularly loved. She also appreciated its versatility, as the frock could be worn either with short sleeves or as a halterneck.

"The colour combination, I couldnt believe it when I saw it in real life. I was tempted to wear it two ways, because if you take the top part off, its a really simple halter dress underneath. I thought the external piece was so unusual, she explained. (C) Cover Media
