The final match of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) between Chennai Rhinos and Karnataka Bulldozers at Hyderabad on Sunday, during which the former defeated the latter and took home the cup, has resulted in a big controversy.

Speaking to a television channel, Ashok Kheny, the owner of Karnataka Bulldozers, asked the CCL management to organise a re-match to safeguard the spirit of the game.

'Boys (players) were reluctant to collect the runners-up trophy because morally we won the match. But I walked out to receive in the last minute to save the credibility of CCL. Actors should be role models but here they have set a bad example,' he said.

In the final over, bowler Vikranth removed the bails from the stumps when the non-striker Karthik left the crease before the ball was delivered. 

Karnataka Bulldozers feel it is considered etiquette to warn a batsman that he is leaving his crease early, before attempting a run out on a subsequent ball.

Meanwhile, reacting to the allegation, actor Jiiva, one of the team members of Chennai Rhinos said, 'Vikranth had already enacted that sort of a dismissal in the practice matches. We were confused then, but he clarified to all the players stating that this was fully within the rules of the game.'
