The 30-year-old American actor was rumoured to be starring in the remake of classic movie The Bodyguard alongside singing sensation Rihanna, 23. Although the star admits he doesnt know how the unfounded gossip started, he says he would love the opportunity to protect the Barbados-born singer as he thinks she is hot.

Channing also revealed he would worry about not being able to top Kevin Costners performance who starred in the original 1992 movie alongside Whitney Houston.

I wouldnt not do that... Rihannas hot I would definitely guard that body, he told BBC Radio One. But how could I ever touch Kevin Costner?

Channing stars in new movie The Eagle, alongside Jamie Bell. Set in Roman-ruled Britain, the adventure movie tells the story of a young Roman soldier who tries to honour his late fathers memory by going on a hunt for his lost legions gold emblem.

The actor didnt worry about his physique initially as director Kevin MacDonald told him he didnt want him to look too gym-honed. However, the hunky star says he had to intensify his fitness routine when Kevin changed his mind during shooting.

Kevin Macdonald [director] was like, I dont want you to look like youve been in the gym. I was like, Thats awesome, he explained. Then he was like, Im thinking tighter, Im like, Great, so I just ran everywhere after that. (C) Cover Media
