Charlie Day can't keep up with comedians

(Cover) - EN Movies - Charlie Day struggles to "keep up" with his Horrible Bosses co-stars.

The 35-year-old US actor is best known for playing Charlie Kelly in American sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and is one of the stars of upcoming comedy Horrible Bosses alongside Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston.

The actor admits his career has been dominated by comic parts, with a few exceptions such as drama series Third Watch, although he doesn't believe he's a particularly gifted comic.

"Yeah, unless you go deep in the vault, unless you go back to the Third Watch days," he agreed, when Cinema Blend remarked on his predominantly funny roles.

"But yeah, I don't consider myself a comedian at all. I have no desire to do stand-up. When Jason and Jason start riffing I find it hard to keep up.

"For me first and foremost it's acting, it's a scene and I'm trying to perform it. The fact that it's funny hopefully is built into the script, and I have my own personal ways to try and make it funny."

That isn't to say Charlie is desperate to shy away from comedy in the future. The actor hopes to have a varied career, and is conscious not to limit himself.

"If a great comedy role pops up, I'll take it. If a serious dramatic role pops up and I think I can do it, I'll take that too," he added. (C) Cover Media
