(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlie Sheen is to divorce Brooke Mueller.

The Hollywood actor, 45, and his wife both filed separate divorce petitions yesterday citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the rupture.

The pair signed a 43-page property settlement document last May, where they divided all their assets and agreed on custody arrangements.

Documents obtained by website TMZ show Charlie is seeking joint physical and legal custody of their 18-month-old twin sons Bob and Max, although Brooke wants primary physical custody, allowing Charlie visitation.

Brooke is expected to receive $55,000 a month in child support.

Charlie and Brooke agree they separated on Christmas Day 2009 after a dramatic fight in the exclusive ski resort of Aspen, which saw Charlie being arrested. He pleaded guilty to domestic violence stemming from the incident and spent time at the Promises Treatment Center after making a deal connected to the case.

Brooke is Charlies third wife. The 45-year-old star was married to movie actress Denise Richards and the pair have two daughters; six-year-old Sam and Lola, five. Charlies first wife was Donna Peele.

Last week Charlie was hospitalised in New York after reportedly being found drunk and naked in his room at New Yorks The Plaza Hotel. His representative has claimed Charlie simply had an adverse allergic reaction to some medication he was taking. (C) Cover Media
