(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlie Sheen says he is on a drug its called Charlie Sheen.
The troubled actor is currently undergoing rehab treatment at home, after he was hospitalised following an alleged two days of partying with porn stars.
He has given a series of interviews over the last week, in which he dismisses claims he is addicted to drugs or needs help. Charlies treatment delayed production of his TV show Two and a Half Men, and last week he went on a foul-mouthed tirade about the shows producer Chuck Lorre. His outburst did not sit well with show bosses, and the remainder of the current season has been cancelled.
Several interviews with Charlie are set to hit television screens this week, and during one with 20/20 he tries to explain his bizarre behaviour.
I am on a drug. It's called Charlie Sheen, he says in the interview which airs tomorrow. I've one speed, I've one gear, go! And I dare you to keep up with me.
There's some wrongs to be righted and some stories to tell. People need to hear my side of it.
Charlie discusses Two and a Half Men on NBCs Today Show, with his comments due to air today. He insists show bosses need him more than he needs them, and is adamant production will start again in the future.
I'm not angry, I'm passionate, he says. Everybody thinks I should be begging for my job back. I'm just gonna forewarn them that it's everybody else that's going to be begging me for their job back.
Over the weekend, Charlie suggested he is writing a tell-all book about his involvement with the programme. He also allowed RadarOnline.com to administer a drugs test to him, which came back clean.
Charlie has now given the website an interview, in which he slams comments made by his father Martin Sheen recently. Martin claimed Charlie is battling a disease like cancer, which his son disagrees with.
Jeez, dad shut it! he said.
OK, Pop walk through a cancer ward right now and find any of those motherf**kers who look like me. [His comment] sounds poetic but it's rooted in b*****ks.
No. No, I don't [believe Im an addict], because that's a word and a thing that they tried to stick on me for 22 years. I don't know [what addiction is], I don't care, I just know it's not a part of my brain today.
Charlie added he has made a choice to stay off drugs now, because he felt the time was right. I feel better. I got bored with those other things. It was time to do something different and I had this epiphanous moment of I'm 45 with five kids and it was time to explore some different realities, he explained.
Charlie went on to again discuss Chuck, as well as Network CBS and production company Warner Bros. He insists not enough has been done to protect him or help him, which is something he is finding difficult to forgive.
[CBS] did not rush to my aid. They've not protected me. They've not said Mr. Lorre I'm sorry you're a clown, bye bye. We're taking care of dude because he's a rock star, a legend. Why isn't anybody like rushing to my aid, rushing to protect me, rushing to protect their most valuable commodity? The guy they say - the guy who Peter Roth [President] says, He keeps the light on at Warner Bros, he said. (C) Cover Media
