Charlie Sheen: I was never intoxicated on set

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlie Sheen insists hes never been drunk or high on the set of Two and a Half Men, although he has rearranged a scene to ensure he didnt fall over.

The troubled actor is currently receiving treatment at his home, following a string of problems. They culminated last month after he was hospitalised with severe abdominal pains, following an alleged two days of partying with porn stars. Those close to Charlie insisted he was suffering from a hernia.

Although he has been praised for agreeing to get help, his decision means production of his TV show Two and a Half Men has halted.

Charlie is keen to get back to work, and called The Dan Patrick Show on Monday to discuss whats going on in his life. He insisted he heals quickly, but also admitted finding sobriety boring.

The star called the show again today, during which he discussed rumours he had turned up for filming intoxicated in the past.

The shape I was showing up in was epic, was beyond comprehension. [Ive] never been drunk, never been high on the set once. But, I would show up not having slept much. Doing a network run-through and asking the director, Jamie, to move my mark a little bit so I could be next to a piece of furniture or a table so I wouldnt fall over. That is an expert move by a seasoned professional. Im sorry, an amateur stays on his mark and then falls over during the run-through, he said.

The 45-year-old added he will continue working on the next season on Two and a Half Men, as he has a two-year deal.

He also opened up about his decision to get help, revealing he did so after people close to him aired their concerns about his lifestyle. People need to understand how supremely grateful I am that someone stepped in here, he said. I dont want to say who, but you know, basically, Viacom showed up at my house and said Dude, its getting really obvious and were really worried about you. We dont give a rats tooey about the show, we care about your health. So, they came in and just man-to-man and said We have to shut it down.

Charlie went on to give Lindsay Lohan some advice. The star left rehab last month, and has had a spate of legal troubles. Most recently she was charged with felony grand theft after a necklace went missing from a jewellery store.

I dare you to get Lindsay on the show, you get Lindsay on the show, I'll call in, because I've got some advice for her. I got some things I'd recommend she consider, because I don't tell anybody what to do, he said. Work on your impulse control, think about things a little bit before you do them... I was not there in the store, the necklace, the thing, some bracelet, who cares. They're so desperate to vilify, without fact, you know?

Charlies latest health scare has been an additional drama for the star, who last year was hospitalised after allegedly being found drunk and naked in a hotel room while on a family holiday to New York with his ex-wife Denise and their kids. He was taken in for an alleged alcohol abuse and psychological evaluation. (C) Cover Media
