(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Christina Applegate says becoming a mother has healed her.

The actress gave birth to a girl called Sadie Grace in Los Angeles last month. This is the stars first child with her fianc, musician Martyn LeNoble, and the new arrival has brought a lot of joy into the couples lives.

Christina - who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 - cant believe how much her life has changed since the birth and she cant bear to spend a minute away from her beautiful baby.

"Yeah, now I'm Mom. She's healed me in so many ways. She's just made my life so much better. She's opened my whole soul, Christina told People. "I felt my heart literally open up for the first time and like wrap itself around her. It was profound. And I'm more in love with her every minute of the day."

The 39-year-old star is a devoted mother and has formed a close bond with Sadie. She wants to do the best for her baby and is determined to excel at parenting. Christina has joked she is already setting herself challenges to ensure Sadie is happy and comfortable.

"I want to be the ultimate burper and diaper-changer, I want to be the ultimate at all of it," she explained. "Sometimes I stand there going, 'I'm not doing any of this right!' And then I get this big man belch out of her and I go, 'Ah, we accomplished this together.'"

When Christina discovered she had breast cancer she chose to have a double mastectomy. At the time, the actress openly spoke about her battle to overcome illness, but now wants to focus on other things in her life. She feels motherhood has helped turn her attentions to something more positive and she looks forward to seeing her daughter grow up.

"I've had to talk about that word [cancer] more than I've ever had to talk about a word in my life," she added. "After a while you're like, 'There's got to be something else to me.' (C) Cover Media
