Charlie Sheen set to leave Hollywood

29th June 2012

Charlie Sheen is planning to quit Hollywood.

The 46-year-old actor is currently starring in a new TV show called Anger Management, which premiered in America this week. Although he has enjoyed making the programme, the star has confirmed it will be his last foray into the acting world.

"Thirty years in, I mean come on. There's this whole ton of stuff to do that involves my children and the rest of my life that's not about like worshipping fiction," he told Fox411 Pop Tarts.

In the new series Charlie plays an unorthodox therapist who helps patients deal with their fury. The role has got him thinking about a possible new career in the future.

"He doesn't judge anybody. He's just a guy trying to get by," he mused. "He's all about atonement, giving something back He's cool and he's smart."

Charlie has first-hand experience of anger management classes and has also spent time in rehab.

He famously unleashed a ferocious attack on his Two and a Half Men bosses last year, resulting in him being fired from the show. That came during Charlie's infamous meltdown, when he lived with two women he called his "goddesses" and claimed to have "tiger blood" running through his veins.

British comedian Russell Brand has now revealed Charlie reached out to him during that time. The actor also came up with a nickname for Russell and asked him over to his home.

"I got an answerphone message, Brand. Genius One. This is Genius Two'. I thought, This is crazy,'" Russell told British newspaper The Sun.

"There were instructions to go to his house. There was him being Charlie Sheen - which was out of control sat with a bunch who looked really on the edge. I think he's super-cool and he's funny as f**k."
