(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlize Theron desires to shelter her son from the media spotlight.

The Hollywood star announced she had adopted baby boy Jackson on her own in March.

A-lister Charlize isn't keen on allowing her celebrity status to interfere with her son's childhood.

"Obviously I understand [the media attention]," she told ET Online. "I also feel like I want to do everything in the world to protect this very innocent little boy, who is going to have an awesome mom but she has a sucky job that everybody wants to know about."

Charlize has spoken previously about her devotion to Jackson.

"I've always been very honest in saying I wanted a family. I've always known I wanted a family," she told the UK edition of Vogue.

"I don't think my mom could wait any more! Jackson is incredible, the greatest gift. He is the coolest kid ever."

Charlize's upcoming film Snow White and the Huntsman also starring Kristen Stewart will premiere in June. (C) Cover Media
