Cheap Trick to come out with new album

20th August 2010

August 20, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Cheap Trick, the legendary American rock band has been on a three-year cycle among albums during the last ten years, however, that doesn't anyway mean that the band isn't thinking about new material.

The band's bassist Tom Petersson informs that they are in the city of Los Angeles and are brimming with ideas. They are also working with the producer Julien Raymond. He also says that they don't have a 'plan' as such when it comes to new material. The band, he claims simply puts together newer ideas and when 10-12 songs are ready, they hit the studio to record them.

"The Latest," was Cheap Trick's self-released CD in the year 2009 that was produced by Raymond. The album debuted at No. 78 on the Billboard 200 chart. This was the band's best showing since they had released the album "Busted" way back in 1990.

Petersson also adds by saying that the albums serve a diverse idea for the group now days. He says that together, the band enjoys making a record and don't make them for the sake of releasing an album.

Fans, meanwhile, are all inquisitive to see who will be the band's new drummer. Drummer Bun E. Carlos has cordially retired from the band and has been replaced by guitarist Rick Nielsen's son Daxx. Bun E. Carlos is still considered to be a band member.
