(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Cheryl Cole says promoting her debut solo album over the last year has felt like she was in training for her new release as its more her.

The Girls Aloud singers LP 3 Words was released last year, after which she went on tour with the Black Eyed Peas. She is now promoting her latest album Messy Little Raindrops, which she is incredibly proud of. Cheryl loves everything about it, and feels as if shes been working toward this point her whole life.

I started recording it back in February and there was a real process this time, much more than last time, she explained. Im more excited now, I feel like Ive found my feet. I know what I want from my album and its not as scary doing it on my own. Going on tour with the Peas helped me establish myself. It feels like Ive had a year in training, this one is more exciting and more me. You cant not have input with an album, it takes a big team to make everything happen. You know what you want, the end goal, you just need everyone else around to help it happen.

Although she loves the record, Cheryl explained she hasnt played it to all her friends and family yet. She wanted the release to be about her fans, so was keen for them to hear it first.

The star also addressed rumours she is planning to move to America. It has been speculated she may uproot her life following her divorce from soccer player Ashley Cole, as she is looking for a fresh start. There have also been rumours she may be a judge on the US version of television show The X Factor, but it seems they are wide of the mark.

I havent got anything in place yet to go out to the US as it takes a lot of time to plan, although it is something Id love to do, definitely, she said in an interview posted on YouTube. Its pretty amazing that we get lots of US fanmail, its amazing to know there are people out there wanting the album. (C) Cover Media
