Megastar-turned-politician Chiranjeevi's estranged son-in-law Sirish Bharadwaj, was produced in the Mahila Court of the Nampally Criminal Court by the Central Crime Station's Women Police Station personnel on Monday.
This comes after the police kept him in their custody for two days. The Court remanded him to judicial custody until Tuesday, when his bail plea is scheduled to come up for hearing. In police custody, Bharadwaj reportedly confessed he used to harass his wife Srija for additional dowry. A team of Central Crime Station officials, led by inspector Jyothi Lakshmi, questioned Sirish during his two-day police custody, raising different queries based on the complaint lodged by Srija.
According to J Satyanarayana, deputy commissioner of police, "We questioned him based on allegations raised by his wife Srija. We also gathered information regarding his involvement in a kidnap case in 2003 and prepared a comprehensive report."
