(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Chris Martin says the upcoming Coldplay album is like a lucky dip.
Chris is lead vocalist of the British rock band, along with lead guitarist Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman on bass and drummer Will Champion.
The band will be back with their fifth studio album in 2011, and Chris admits making it has been rather temperamental.
"We spent a year making a lot of noise. You know those things in a fairground where you have bran in a tub and in there are some hidden prizes? That's sort of where we are at," he told the BBC.
"Like a lucky dip?" suggested Jonny.
"Yeah, a lucky dip," confirmed the star.
The musician also explained there is a concept behind the currently untitled record. The album will follow the journey of two lost souls, and is expected to feature personal elements too.
"It's from the point of view of two people who are a bit lost," revealed Chris.
"Two like-minded outsiders who meet in a very difficult environment and therefore have a journey together.
"It's a concept album but it's supposed to be very personal within a big framework. Does that make sense?"
Chris also confessed the band do occasionally struggle to work together, despite being immensely proud of the end results. The star joked the rest of the group probably find him hard to team up with, comparing their studio time to a reality television show.
"It's very much like I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here in our studio," he laughed. "A lot of difficult tasks and people that you find it hard to get along with, i.e. me." (C) Cover Media
