Christopher Kane: Neon fabric is rare

27th September 2010

(Cover) - EN Fashion - Christopher Kane has joked he had to walk to the moon to get hold of fabric for his recent collection.

The 28-year-old Scottish fashion designer recently showcased his Spring/Summer 2011 range as part of London Fashion Week, and it displayed the funky acid-bright tones his designs have become associated with.

Christopher says putting the collection together was very difficult, especially because its so hard to find neon fabric in an industry full of more sombre tones.

Its very hard to get neon fabric - youd walk to the moon, he laughed in an interview with GraziaDaily.

Christopher says the struggle he experienced while looking for the dazzling material made him wary of creating a line with such obscure colours in the future. Although he loves to be different, the designer may opt for simpler tones next time.

I wont be repeating that for a long time, he joked.

He quickly backtracked though, admitting he really isnt a fan of earthy hues. Christopher thinks its boring when women wear huge blocks of neutral tones without breaking it up with a hint of colour.

Im fed up of seeing head to toe white or beige or camel, he revealed. (C) Cover Media
