Producer Dayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Movies has acquired the rights of Silambarasan multi-starrer 'Vaanam'. Vaanam is a forthcoming ensemble Indian Tamil action-drama film written and directed by Krish. A remake of his own 2010 Telugu film Vedam, the film stars Silambarasan, Bharath, Anushka Shetty, Prakash Raj and Saranya in the lead roles. The score and soundtrack to the film are composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while cinematography and editing are handled by Nirav Shah and Anthony Gonsalves, respectively. Jointly produced by Ganesh Janardhanan and R. Ganesh, Vaanam is currently in its production stage and set to be released by Dayanidhi Azhagiri's Cloud Nine Movies on April 8, 2011. The original version had Allu Arjun, Anushka, Manchu Manoj, Manoj Bajpayee and others in lead roles.
