Colin Farrell is a huge fan of poetry, according to Jessica Biel.

The two stars appear alongside each other in new action movie Total Recall. They bonded over their shared love of rhyming verses on set.

"Colin's one thing was that he likes poetry and I'm a bit of an amateur poet myself," she revealed to British newspaper The Sun.

"So he was telling me all about different poets that he likes. He would let me borrow a book and I would look at his poetry book over a week and then I'd pass it back and we'd talk about which poems we liked best."

Jessica needs to find something to bond over, such as a shared passion, with co-stars in order to portray believable chemistry on screen.

Besides helping with her acting, poetry also helped her and Colin pass the time during less exciting moments on set.

"We would be in the hover cars waiting for them to fix the lights or something and I would always do a crossword and he would always have his poetry book," she explained.

"So we would swap and he would do some of my crossword and I would read the book and then we'd swap back. It was quite surreal."
